About the webinar

Digital transformation is reshaping aviation through increasingly automated, connected, data-driven, and intelligent systems. From next-generation flight decks and remote digital towers to artificial intelligence, real-time flight data analytics, and advanced human–machine interfaces, these technologies offer substantial opportunities to improve safety, operational efficiency, and resilience. However, their benefits depend fundamentally on how effectively they support the people who operate, supervise, interpret, and make decisions within complex aviation systems. This webinar presents a human-centred digital aviation perspective for designing safer and smarter future aerospace systems. Drawing upon research across flight deck human–machine interaction, digital and remote tower operations, Flight Data Monitoring (FDM), Virtual Flight Data Recorder (VFDR) concepts, physiological monitoring, and AI-enabled decision support conducting at Cranfield Safety and Accident Investigation Centre. The presentation examines how human factors can be systematically integrated throughout technology development and operational implementation.
